Astrid Avenue

was named for Princess Astrid of Belgium who visited the garden in 1928 on her honeymoon with Prince Leopold. The avenue is formed of Agathis dammara trees and Canna hybrida. The colours of the Cannas (black, red and yellow) are the colours of the Belgian flag.
