An introduction to the Fauna and Flora of Gunung Halimun National Park.
An introduction to such fauna and flora will take place in the Bogor Botanical Gardens, but the length of the trip (9 days and 8 nights), will afford plenty of opportunity to witness some spectacular wildlife for yourself.
The relative isolation and lack of disturbance of Halimun National Park might permit you to glimpse the Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa), Javan Gibbon (Hylobates moloch), Grizzled leaf monkey (Presbytis comata), Flying squirrels , Mouse deer (Tragulus javanicus) and Wild dogs (Cuon alpinus), not to mention the diverse array of insect and bird life.
Also included in the trip is a chance to visit the local communities of the North, East and South Halimun. The Kasepuhan Community in the South will entertain you with the famous traditional wooden puppet ‘wayang golek’ and Sundanesse ‘jaipongan’ dance.
Not for the light-hearted is a white-water rafting experience in the south before returning to Jakarta.
The trip lasts 8 nights and 9 days.
